Dean Ashton, born in Swindon and raised in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire spent his youth days playing at both Stoke City and Crewe Alexandra. He spent many years at Crewe Alexandra playing throughout the age groups until he made his professional debut for them in 2000. He spent his career at Norwich City after signing there in 2005 until he later moved to West Ham the following year.
Dean represented England at every age group before he was forced to retire at the age of 26 due to an ankle injury sustained whilst training with the national team in 2006.
He is a regular pundit on The EFL Show on Quest TV and provides co-commentary and punditry on talkSPORT, Sky Sports, ITV and Premier League TV. Dean has also regularly appeared on BT Sport, BBC 5Live.
Away from football, Dean has a huge love for watching and playing golf and has a golf handicap of six. He regularly attends golfing events across the country, including The British Par Championship.
“Ever since I joined Jo & the Tongue Tied Media team, my career has gone from strength to strength after a slow start trying to do it all myself. Organised, supportive but also very honest, they have helped me improve and understand more about my new career.
I’ve gained huge amounts of confidence from their guidance and expertise in the media world.”
“Learn to love nerves... use them to push yourself further!”
